How can we realize more consistency and efficiency? To make the UX Lab at gemeente Amsterdam more professional and effective we set out to develop a design system. We did this after the the redesign of Amsterdam.nl was completed. Delivering the design system was a nice 'cherry on top' of our work: designsystem.amsterdam.nl
The making of
We used Zeroheight to build it and a shared Sketch Cloud library. But before we got the implementation work done, we first performed a lot of groundwork: pulling all visual designs together, aligning them, finalizing details, creating rules, specifications and guidelines. This was done in a small team of 3 (me included) and Figma and Sketch were the tools we used to organize our work.
