INSIGHTS ANALYSIS
There's an aspect to design research that often doesn't get the attention that it needs: Analyzing results. This is when a good insight can be distinguished from a fantastic one, when unforeseen opportunities arise, and innovative ideas can spark. I've learned not to rush this, because carefully planning analysis creates the best results.

Better as a team
Analyzing research insights together with stakeholders has proven to be very effective. You get to pick everyone's brain, and because the prioritization happens collectively there's less discussion about it afterward.

At gemeente Amsterdam we planned this activity a day after a usability test or other qualitative study, when the memories were still fresh.
Post-it power
Visualizing, clustering, grouping, organizing, naming and prioritizing, those are all actions that help to analyze insights and findings. Yes designers get high on post-it notes while doing this, but post-its just work well for this, and when a product works well, you keep using it over and over again :)
